I went to Greece as a solo and it was lovely. Call Jet-Holidays 07359 419 290 Book today see for yourself how good Greece is.

When to go

  • Shoulder months (Apr–Jun & Sep–Oct): best combo of warm weather + lighter crowds. High season is Jul–Aug; low is Nov–Mar. Travel + Leisurericksteves.com

  • If you’re island-hopping in Jul–Aug, the Meltemi northerlies can be strong in the Cyclades; the Ionian (Corfu, Kefalonia) is usually calmer. sailogy.comisland-ikaria.com

How long - 7–10 days

  • Culture + a chill island (first-timer)Athens 2–3 → Naxos 4–5 (long sandy beaches, low-key bars) → Santorini 1–2 (sunsets, caldera walk).Notes: ferries are most frequent late spring–early autumn; fewer crossings in shoulder months. Ferryhopper+1

  • Mainland sights & vibes (low ferry fuss)Athens 2 → train/bus to Meteora 2 (sunrise viewpoints, monastery hikes) → Thessaloniki 2–3 (waterfront, food scene).Notes: check Hellenic Train for live timetables (routes can change). hellenictrain.gr

  • One-island base (slow travel)Crete 7–10 (base in Chania Old Town): day trips to Balos/Elafonissi, samaria gorge shuttle hikes; big island = easy to meet other travelers on tours and buses.

Where to stay (solo-friendly bases)

  • Athens: Koukaki/Plaka/Psirri for walkability and food tours; book Acropolis timed entry to skip queues. hhticket.gr

  • Naxos/Paros: beach towns (Agios Prokopios / Naousa) with sunset sails and casual nightlife.

  • Crete (Chania): compact old town + tons of day trips.

  • Thessaloniki: Ladadika area for cafés, markets, and an easygoing, studenty vibe.

Meet-people

Join a walking/food tour in Athens, a day-sailing or snorkel trip on the islands, or a sunrise photo walk at Meteora. Hostels and small guesthouses with shared courtyards are great for finding dinner buddies.

Days Out

  • Ferries: peak frequency May–Sep; in Apr/Oct they run, just fewer—plan hops accordingly (and book popular routes in summer). Ferryhopper+1

  • Wind workaround: in Jul–Aug, if you want glassy seas, lean Ionian over Cyclades. island-ikaria.com

  • Tickets: Acropolis uses time slots—buy ahead. hhticket.gr
